Live screening of the Joint Israeli–Palestinian Memorial Day Ceremony

20 April 2026, 6:00 PM
Colosseum Filmtheater Berlin, Schönhauser Allee 123, 10437 Berlin

For the 21st time, the Joint Israeli–Palestinian Memorial Day brings people together in shared remembrance.

Organized by organized by Combatants for Peace and The Parents Circle Families Forum, it is the largest jointly organized Israeli–Palestinian peace event. Held annually on the eve of Yom HaZikaron, the Israeli national memorial day, it offers a powerful alternative to one-sided narratives.

The ceremony honors the pain and loss on both sides and highlights a shared commitment to reconciliation, justice, and hope — breaking the cycle of violence.

“We do not seek to equate experiences, but to transform despair into hope and build compassion grounded in our shared humanity. Occupation, oppression, and conflict are not inevitable.”

This year’s event will take place after two and a half years of deep trauma and continued violence. The Joint Memorial Ceremony offers a profound alternative to division and despair, proving that in times of deep suffering, solidarity is not only possible but imperative.

Join us as we come together to grieve, to remember, and to insist on a different path forward.

We are pleased to welcome activists Sayel Jabareen and Elie Avidor from Combatants for Peace from Israel and Palestine for an introductory conversation before the live broadcast of the ceremony.

Sayel Jabareen is a Palestinian member of Combatants for Peace engaged in nonviolent resistance and community advocacy in the West Bank. He brings direct experience of how settler violence affects Palestinian communities and how nonviolent organizing seeks to protect dignity and rights.

Elie Avidor is an Israeli member of Combatants for Peace committed to confronting violence—including settler violence—within Israeli society while advocating for accountability, equality, and security for all.

Together, they model joint responsibility and shared commitment.
